Why crews reach for it
Air-operated diaphragm pumps remove the liquids and slurry a cleaning job throws off like water, sludge, and product waste. The 2″ moves up to 160 GPM, and the 3″ up to 230 GPM.
These are standard for evacuating a vessel for a few reasons. First, they run on air, not electricity, so they’re safe in the wet, classified, confined spaces where an electric motor isn’t rated. Second, they pass solids and slurry that would clog or burn out other pumps. They also run dry or against a closed line without damage, so there’s less need to monitor the pump mid-clean.
Use them to clear wash water, sludge, and waste during and after cleaning, or to transfer product residue out of a vessel. Run them off an Evans air compressor. Rental only.
